Shengjie Liu is an accomplished and passionate musician with a remarkable journey in the world of classical piano. Hailing from China, Shengjie began his musical odyssey at a young age, guided by exceptional talent and unwavering dedication. His pursuit of musical excellence led him to the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in China, where he honed his skills under the guidance of Xiaoliang Lv. There, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance, laying the foundation for a promising career. Driven by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Shengjie continued his educational journey in the United States, enrolling at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Under the mentorship of Jean-Louis Haguenauer, he earned both a Master of Music in Piano Performance and a Performer Diploma in Solo Piano.
Shengjie’s dedication to his artistry reached new heights when he enrolled at the University of North Texas to pursue a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance under the guidance of Adam Wodnicki. His passion for the piano and his commitment to musical excellence have been apparent throughout his academic pursuits. In addition to his academic background, Shengjie has made significant contributions to music through various roles. He worked as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, where he shared his expertise with both music majors and non-music majors. As a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, he helped nurture the development of future musicians and contributed to the vibrant music community. Furthermore, he served as the Music Director at Belvoir Terrace, showcasing his talent as a conductor, coach, and teacher, and leading successful musical productions.
